Beneath the Action: inspired by the colorful messes that secretly collect under a dining table, the heart of a busy home. A space that hosts snacks, laughter, play, work, and the bustling rhythms of family life. Parallel cords and warm colors on the surface of this piece echo the likeness of the artist's wood floor, while layered textures and colors represent the countless crumbs, spills, playdough remnants, and everyday traces left behind.

This work represents a choice of thankfulness for now. It is an elegy for a room filled with life that will someday remain too clean, too quiet, too perfect.

Part of the “Elegy for the Everyday collection which emerges from the artist’s personal sensitivity to disruption, especially movements of family and daily life. What might seem insignificant, crumbs underfoot, piles of laundry, dirty dishes, become obsessive distractions. This collection is curated to reflect an intentional practice of overcoming frustration by learning to notice, tolerate, and ultimately find thankfulness in disarray. Elegy- memorials for the daily frustrations that calm as the dynamics of life shift through passing years.
